Networking is the name of the game
Slough Observer
IT WAS business time when people from across Berkshire came together to launch a networking event, writes John Dickens.
More than 25 business owners attended Slough’s first Business Biscotti networking meeting on Tuesday morning.
The social business hub – for people to meet new contacts and share ideas – was held at the Holiday Inn, in Church Street, Chalvey, from 9.30-11.30am.

Peter Morris, Berkshire Business Biscotti director and Gurpreet Sandhu from Avco Systems.
Peter Morris, an ex-banker and Business Biscotti’s Berkshire director, was one of the four ambassadors who set-up the free event.
He said: “It’s a great opportunity to meet other people who you can develop business partnerships with. That’s the excitement of it, the growth of Business Biscotti as a direct result of people coming together.
“There is a lack of investment for businesses and this is a great way of creating more business – on the back of meetings like this.”
Business Biscotti offers networking opportunities for communities across the country and has 80 business communities established. Wayne Strutton, Haymill ward councillor and owner of a private hire chauffeur company, added: “It’s the small businesses in Slough that we need to see get more income. This is great for helping with that.”
The event will continue to run on the first Tuesday of every month at the same location.
June Anderson, from the TC Group, a promotional gift company, based in High Wycombe, said: “We see this as an opportunity to grow our business by speaking to people face-to-face, rather than cold calling.
“Plus you can just drop in anytime, which has benefits for the busy working life.”
Chaudry Yaqub, a specialist at immigration services company Yaqub & Co, based in Burnham Lane, Burnham, added: “It’s an easy way to make links with business people in the area.”
