Hi Gillian. Yes, vegetarians are really poorly off for Omega 3 sources. In my view (and it is MY view), the fact that they struggle with conversions (B12 & D2 also) gives us a message - we are supposed to eat animal products! Vegetarians - please eat lots of EGGS!
Rapeseed, sunflowerseed, corn, soya and any other loosely termed "vegetable" oil are all too high in Omega 6. Most margarine is made from these - even the disingenuous ones that say "olive oil spread"!
