Social media help clinic
Come here with your social media questions. Social media isn't just for teenagers, lots of businesses use it too.
Business in Berkshire on LinkedIn are running a 'Getting the best out of LinkedIn' workshop.
Details here.
13th May, 9:30am - 12 midday, £15 plus VAT, Kinnarps Winnersh.
It's run by Mark White who has an excellent reputation.
A personal preference, the photos of business photo-stock people make the site look just like so many others. A good picture of you would add confidence in your offering and give individuality to your website. A picture of a business disaster would catch the eye too.
No plastic people please; they belong in toothpaste ads only :-).

Brill. FYI page 4 of the following link (to a powerpoint presentation on SlideShare) shows how social media can be linked to various stages in the sales process – AIDA, not retention, but it’s a good start: http://www.slideshare.net/thepaulbates/develop-the-best-social-media-strategy-for-local-business It suggests to me:
1.Awareness – blog, Google ads and Facebook ads to get us started – I’ve started a blog and I am researching/experimenting with the Google ads, though this would suggest I should be blogging more. I’ve done nothing as yet on Facebook ads.
2.Interest/relationship building – Google places, Facebook places + (to a latter extent) Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter – localisation required.
3.Desire – Facebook, Twitter + Facebook deals
4.Action – Facebook & site (website? Iframes??)
The rest are Greek to me. Any thoughts/suggestions?
Any thoughts also on how I can make the most of these when my Dulux territory does not include my home/office address - every other Reading postcode but?
Or how to link this with free local directories. Again postcode issue applies
FYI I've also mentioned emarketer's 39 page FREE twitter for business document, just downloaded for lunchtime reading.
