Network group takes the biscotti

Another business networking organisation has opened in Cambridge – but what has it got to offer that the others don’t?

Business Biscotti meets on the fourth Friday each month at Baroosh in Market Passage from 9.30-11.30am, and takes its name from a biscuit.

Responding to our question, Graham Reeves, managing director of Business Biscotti, which has groups all over the country, said:

“We don’t charge admission or membership fees – attendees pay the venue for their refreshments. “However, in reality it is because we make no restrictions on who can attend, there is no pre-event registration and attendees can arrive and leave whenever they wish.

“In other words, we put the control back into the hands of the attendee. “They can also attend any group whenever they wish.

“As a result of this, our average group size is between 40 and 50, and attendees are, in the main, established businesses.

“Most of the conventional business networking groups do not operate in this way.”

As to the biscuit, this refers to the twice-baked Italian cookie served with coffee and which was present at the first meeting in May 2007.

Graham says the group’s website gets up to three million hits a month, and that everyone involved is a volunteer with the aim of helping SMEs to do business with one another.

The Cambridge group is being run by Sarah May Stubbins. For more contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
